From Bukavu, South Kivu, Prince Amani, coordinator of the Organization of Young Solidarity for Justice and Development of Congo (JSJD-ASBL), on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention for the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, calls for the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), civil society, and human rights organizations to further intensify their active support and participation in the cause. He continues by saying, “It is necessary to hold accountable the actions of the alleged perpetrators of genocide, as the DRC continues to suffer violence, particularly in the east. The mapping report and its annexes should be taken into account to honor the memory of the survivors of genocide in the DRC.”
The JSJD ASBL organization supports the fight of Dr. Denis Mukwege, Nobel Peace Prize 2018, along with that of the Coordination Office of Civil Society of South Kivu. “These actors are fighting with determination to ensure that survivors are honored and that justice is done.”
“By adhering to this noble cause, JSJD ASBL strengthens its commitment alongside Dr. Mukwege and civil society, fervently calling for justice for all victims and survivors in the DRC.” According to Amani, “Justice is the first condition for peace” – Aristotle.
