During a speech at the White House, US President Donald Trump declared that the American attack on Iranian nuclear facilities had “totally destroyed” them.
Trump also expressed his desire to honor the Air Force pilots involved in the attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities during the July 4th celebrations at the White House, with a flyover of B-2 Spirit bombers, the same
aircraft used in the operation.
He then praised them, stating that they demonstrated “how to fly, fight, and win.”
The President called the operation, named ‘Midnight Hammer’, “one of the most successful military actions in all of history.” He further asserted that, despite alleged perplexity expressed by Iranian officials, American B-2 bombers conducted a secret attack in the “heart of a very hostile country.”
Referring to the attack, he stated that the operation had “completely destroyed Iran’s enrichment capability” and went on to say that, as a result, Iran would no longer shout hostile slogans against the United States and Israel, as it had in the past.
In his speech in Iowa last Thursday, July 3, Trump commented on Iran’s internal situation: “Iran is a place where they once talked about America in the worst possible way, like ‘Death to America’ and ‘Death to
Israel.’ They said really bad things. But now they don’t talk badly about it anymore. They might even want to meet. I think they are very eager. We will see what happens.”
The reference to old anti-American and anti-Israeli slogans aims to highlight an alleged weakening of Iranian rhetoric, directly attributing it to the military action and sanctions imposed by the United States.
Finally, Trump criticized the reaction of the American media, claiming they did not want to admit the total destruction of the Iranian nuclear program. “They didn’t want to accept that the Iranian nuclear program was destroyed. They said it was slightly damaged or severely damaged, but they weren’t willing to use the word destroyed,” he stated. His comment on the media’s reaction reflects his often confrontational relationship with the press.
The President then concluded by emphasizing that it is now “proven that it is
completely destroyed, and even the Atomic Energy Commission has confirmed it.”
